Books books books
I was looking around Amazon and came across a book I read recently. On Intelligence. Amazon coaxed me to look at some other books with it's You may also be interested in these items... section.
One of the books I have read before, Mind Wide Open. Great quick read.
Another book that I heard about recently was Blink. I haven't read it yet, but I want to.
I am still debating whether or not Mind Hacks would be a good read. Anyone read it?

I'm gazing into a pair of eyes, scanning the arch of the brow, the hooded lids, trying to gauge whether they're signaling defiance or panic.

alright -- I'll read those next. I just got these two books on philisophical history (vol 1 &2). I'll finish those first. I have to have books in line, or I go insane.
Blink is very good -- and short, but read Atlas Shrugged first if you can!
Hey, speaking of computers, strong AI and weak AI -- have you read any Daniel C. Dennett? I really love that guy. He and John Searle (the Chinese room guy) really go at it in their articles. (stuff like -- "I agree with Prof. Searle's conclusions, I just don't believe that he came upon them the correct way" HA!!! fight! fight!
actually, sometimes it's like my brain learns about as well as the Chinese room. That's why I'm so irresponsible with remembering to sleep.
*sigh*
The On Intelligence book talks about the Chinese Room. I haven't read any of Dennett's stuff. I do have an AI book, but I am not sure if he contributed.
Sleep is very necessary. Get some while you can!
