Merry Christmas!!

The boy came over today and opened his presents. Santa brought him his very first bicycle. We rode it up and down the street a few times. His style of riding is quite unique, but in time he should hopefully master the concept of riding a bicycle. He was a bit timid sitting on the seat of the bike, so instead, he straddled the bike and "walked" it up and down the street. Every so often he would say "ouch" as one of the pedals would hit the back of his leg. I attempted to show him how to properly ride it, but I was not able to articulate the words in a way that a three year old would understand. He must first overcome his fear of the additonal two to three inches he would be off the ground from sitting on the seat, rather than standing. Poor child. He must get it from his mother. :) Hopefully she will never read this, but if she does, then "Hi!".

Another fun gift, courtesy of grandma, was a play doh table. I still have it in my finger nails as I am typing this. The smell of it reminds me of when I was his age and playing with it. One day I'll teach him how to make little play doh figures and bake them in a toaster oven like my uncle used to do with me. Those memories never fade. I still remember the smell of baking play doh. Mmm..

I can't believe it has been so long since I last logged a blog. I apologize to those who are avid readers!

Well, back to enjoying the quiet christmas day. It'd be nice if it would have snowed. Maybe next year...
